Scientific name: Hypna clytemnestra
I have never seen one of these before, as I believe they have been newly introduced into the Butterfly Garden.
They are also known as the jazzy leafwing or the silver-studded leafwing. Notice the prominent
proboscis (tongue). The cryptic underside pattern resembles a dead withered leaf. Other
leafwings also resemble leaves. See, for example, my December, 2007 photograph
