Although I did not try multiple exposures in the field in order to obtain an HDR given the high contrast in the scene, a mistake
in my opinion, I have generated multiple exposures in Camera Raw, a method suggested to me by Chris Spracklen. The
result using Photomatix is a "synthetic" HDR. You will have to be the judge about whether this method has
adequately tamed the high contrast in the scene. Personally, I think it's a
substantial improvement over the single exposure.
Camelback mountain is straight ahead in the distance. The camel's two humps and head are easily seen.
