Four Images of Piazza Navona

Rome

Piazza Navona is one of the most famous and arguably the most beautiful of Rome's many squares. It features important sculptural
and architectural creations. It is one of Rome's liveliest squares with many outdoor cafes, restaurants, and night
clubs in the neighborhood. This is the first time we have ever been to this beautiful square.

The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or "Fountain of the Four Rivers" was designed in 1651 by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The base of the
fountain is a basin from the centre of which travertine rocks rise to support four river gods and above them, an ancient
Egyptian obelisk. Collectively, they represent four major rivers of the four continents, the Nile representing
Africa, the Danube representing Europe, the Ganges representing Asia, and the Platte representing the
Americas. In the photo the Ganges is on the right and the Danube is on the left.
The statue person is in the middle. :-)

We had lunch at the pizzeria across from Bernini's fountain. Wonderful pizza and great people and fountain watching!

A figure in La Fontana del Moro (the Moor Fountain) located at the southern end of the Piazza Navona.
The fountain was originally designed in 1575.

I really like the one with the photographer in the group.
All are eye-popping. I'd say it's done with a great
camera except it's not that--It's the photographer.
Cameras don't take photos.
People do.
Nice job, Jay.
