We encountered a female Spruce Grouse, with 4-5 chicks, on the Bakers Brook Falls trail. She was very defensive of her chicks and would run towards us with her feathers raised if we got too close. Eventually they all moved off into the woods, but she continued to keep an eye on us for some time.
