The words are: "Cousin Mary Taylor of New York City presenting General Lafayette with a bouquet of flowers, and in return receives a kiss of gratitude. Scene: Parade passing up Penn[sylvania]. Ave[nue] Wash[ington]., D.C. Cousin of Grandmother[name not clear]."
Our Grandmother, Madelyn Loretta Atchison Ullrich, "Nan", told the story often of her Cousin Mary Taylor handing flowers to General Lafayette. This is a scan of a postcard Nan had that depicts that event. The previous image is the front of that postcard.
