Alexandria is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. This is a blow-up of a Harper's Weekly illustration of the Marshall House on King St where Col Ellsworth was killed taking down the Confederate flag on the first day of the Northern invasion of Alexandria. His was the first individual death of the war. This display was part of the of the commemoration at Market Square, City Hall.
