I've been wanting to visit Hurley, WI since I was a teenager and started hearing stories about it but never got up there. Now, being back in Wisconsin and only 155 miles South I decided it was time.
The weekend forecast was for upper 70's temperatures and sunny and being way up here in the Great White North, and it being almost October already I though I'd never have a better opportunity.
It was a 330 mile ride. We arrived in Hurley about 11 AM Saturday and checked into the Silver Street Motel, which is across the street from Hurley's "Lower Block." (See photo of sign for full description) We spent most of the afternoon in about a half dozen or so regular bars where Eve played her video games, and also toured the Iron County Historical Museum.
When the sun went down, we visited the 5 or 6 strip clubs on the Lower Block, some of them twice and one three times. The Full Moon Saloon proved to be the most fun, and also had a dancer named Ali, who is the first really good dancer I've seen since moving back up here to the Great White North...She'd be right at home (and raking in the $$$$) at any club in any major city you can name.
Eve and I both enjoyed her shows immensely, especially her thank you's for the tips she received from us on stage.
