I've been seeing these old train engines as I pass through Chicago for the last 3 years or more and have been wanting to photograph them. Today I spent Thanksgiving driving the 675 mile round trip down there and shooting them and a couple other locations I stumbled across. The best shots were actually taken right from a I-57 overpass. I parked the Caddy just past the bridge and ran back with my E-5 and 50-200mm Zoom and shot as fast as I could while hoping no one ran me over and no cops came along and saw me. I lucked out on both counts.
