Northern Yellow-shafted Flicker

Wetaskiwin City

Another shot of a Northern Yellow-shafted Flicker. They have 5-7 eggs and incubate for up to 11 days. They eat insects, berries and nuts. Hear his call and you will never forget it. Seems like the last few years they have been on the down swing... just my opinion.
