On this site 5113-49 ave the first Sacred Heart Catholic Church was built. It was replaced in 1911 with a new classic brick church with this steeple which is show here. This steeple now lays in a field across from the By The Lake Park. Anytime you look at the city of Wetaskiwin from the early photos the Catholic church sticks out in photos and the first thing you see is the steeple. I would think that this steeple should be put into a museum as in a few years it be beyond any use... should have will be the answer in the future...
