Hand Hills Lake Stampede is probably one of the oldest long running Rodeos. It takes place in the center bald prairies with Drumheller about 15 miles away. Park where you want and bring your chair or use the bleachers. It is more like a family Rodeo and is probably one of the best around...The Calgary Stampede brings all their new stock and it is where the best cowboys enter to get ready to do the Rodeo Circuit. It is so casual there and everyone is very friendly. Starts with a breakfast for $4.00 ends with a bar-b-cue and dance to follow. It also a place where people sell their crafts and you can even buy home made pies. Mine first impression is that it is well run and has excellent rodeo events. I will be going back next year.
