An antique Tibetan tsakli painting, 19th Century or earlier depicting within a stylised mountainous landscape and surrounded by an elongated saffron rainbow edged nimbus with a blue centre and a red mandorla a barefoot standing goddess on her lotus throne. she wears a lower robe of blue-edged green silk over a scarlet dhoti, a golden edged saffron choli and a green celestial scarf which. hangs down past her throne. She has a particularly elaborate crown above her impassive face, and both her arms hang to her sides, her hands with palms with palms outwards in the varada mudra or gesture of giving, or granting wishes.
