An antique tsakli painting, Tibet, 19th Century or earlier depicting a particularly nasty group of demonic deities -the upper register with a group of 3 within a burst of violent flames dancing manically as if bursting forth from hell itself. At centre within a plume of smoke is a rat headed deity holding viscera like a bunch of flowers, while below are two tiger skin clad deities - each within a burst of flame - one boar headed holding a noose and a bhumpa, the other holding a flag and a chain. 4 areas of text to the reverse. 11.2 x 18.4cm
