A brilliant rainbow beams above a stand of cactus following a brief but furious summer rain.
This surreal rosy-pink hue lasted about 30 seconds before fading to pale.

I love the way the cacti raise their arms in homage to the rainbow -- the result is an incongruous and beautiful salute to nature. A rainbow needs context to work photographically, and the landscape full of cacti provides it here. Meanwhile, the rainbow returns the favor by offering striking context to the landscape. You make everything in the frame work together as expression, Marcia.
