17082006 back to the darkroom!

OK, this may not be the best photo you've ever seen. It may even be the worst photo you've seen for some time. But this represents several hours of work for Dad so he's determined to post it. It's a frame from his first home-processed film. That's right - not this computerised stuff but smelly chemicals and water and mess everywhere. Dad had fun, but Mum was not too impressed and as for me... if you can make me out in this shot you'll see I look distinctly underwhelmed.

(dad: I did have a lot of fun - there's something therapeutic about sloshing chemicals
about inside a processing tank instead of sitting in front of the computer. Recommended
for anyone with pixel-itis! ;-) )

Looks like Dad had fun! I have to say, between you and DM, I get an itching for negatives, too. If I wait a bit, it passes... Actually, I don't have room for it these days...

Good try! Reminds of my high school photography class.

Look forward to seeing more!

Dad of course would have cleaned up his mess & not left it for Mum would he :>)
It sort of reminds me of the old home movies..like any moment your going to move, Pooch !! A fine attempt Dad.

tell you just what to do! :-)

I would love to know how to do this. Then I could have that Leica rangefinder that I'm hankering for. Good work, Dad.

Very nice classic feel in this photo.
Must be neat to see the image appear magically from the combo of chemicals and paper.

Love the grain of the film! Way to go! I miss darkroom work!

You know what? I kinda like it too!

Seems like Pooch would rather be playing with Hippo II or Ewe to be sniffing chemicals :-)
Looks like a really aged photograph!
