05062006 Dales walky

Here's another photo from yesterday's walky in the Yorkshire Dales. We asked the farmer's permission to walk here as it is not a public right of way. The farmer had two big border collie dogs who did exactly as they were told! He sent them ahead of him into a field to round up some sheep with just a whistle, and they seemed to know exactly what to do. They also seemed to work very hard, while I spent my time exploring interesting smells and rustlings in the long grass. It would be fun to run after some sheep like they did, I think, but I would not like to have to do it every day in all weathers. When we walked off, the border collies stopped and watched us as though they wanted to come for a walky too!

I reckon running for sheeps for 5 minutes would be quite cool, pooch.
But I doubt you would wanna do that full time.
You've gotta be so self-motivated for a job like that! :-)

LOL! Pooch. You live in a beautiful environment! I know it's not exactly your place but... this is not that far isn't it?
Beautful scenery...

Chase has Border Collie in her, but let me tell you, she does not listen like those guys do! Her sheep herding days are over now. Lucky Pooch that you guys have such grand adventures! Beautiful hillsides.

Border collies would herd you around, too, if they had the chance. It's just how they are. I want to get a border collie to keep me in line.

What a breathtaking view of your surroundings, pooch. Glad you decided to keep living with your parents instead of moving to the sheep farm. :) You are very kind to let the collies keep their jobs. :)

If only you could spend EVERY day doing this with Dad & Mum.
You're so lucky you don't need to "work" like those collies!
