8th April 2013 - RIP Aunty Val

Friends, here's a photo from Dad's iPhone from our trip to Fountains Abbey last weekend. He snapped me in the monks' kitchen,
sniffing about as usual for scraps! Unfortunately for me, Dad says King Henry VIII decided about 460 years ago that the monastery should
be dissolved, so there hasn't been any food cooked in here for a long, long time.

Dad: today's photo of a perkily sniffing Pooch is in tribute to a very special lady and important figure in Pooch's life - his Aunty Val.
Aunty Val was Pooch's groomer right from his very first trim as a puppy in 2001 and was a wise friend for over a decade.
It was she who pointed out a medical condition requiring an operation when Pooch was a few months old,
which if left untreated could have shortened his life. We will always be thankful for her care of Pooch.
Val sadly lost a long and very courageous battle against bowel cancer last month and her funeral is tomorrow.
Rest in Peace Aunty Val. We will miss you.

I think Coleen has said it all most eloquently. My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your friend and may she rest peacefully.

May the angels lead Aunty Val into Paradise. And, we thank her for being so astute about Pooch. This is a beautiful scene.
Shame on Henry VIII.

I think you're far too late for the food scraps Pooch, & very sorry to hear about your
Auntie Val - her battle is over but her memory lingers on eh. v

Sorry to hear that she is gone. Your photo has quite an atmosphere with the misty background and rough framing! V
