Dad: an historical shot for our last Poochblog entry of Year 6!
I joined the wife and Pooch on Monday night and we spent the 31st (yesterday) exploring the industrial heritage of the Tamar Valley on the Cornwall/Devon border.
Pooch was eager to explore the ruins of Clitters copper mine which we found during a woodland walky beside the River Tamar, near the village of Lower Dimson.
He thought there could well be some rabbits or squ*rrels lurking around in there, and perhaps he was right!
However after the wife spotted a sign warning of open mine-shafts and contaminated ground, she took Pooch away - much to his disappointment!
Here's a shot I took at Drakewalls Mine, Gunnislake, earlier in the day: http://www.pbase.com/image/135185965 This was once one of the most prosperous mines in the area.
