Dad: not a great photo in itself but gives a better idea of what the Fountains Abbey ruins are like from a distance. The abbey,
founded in 1132, was one of the richest monastic houses in Britain, before King Henry VIII ordered its dissolution in 1539.
The abbey and surrounding estate are designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The UNESCO website describes
the estate as "a... landscape of exceptional merit and beauty" http://whc.unesco.org/pg.cfm?cid=31&id_site=372 .
But of course, Pooch isn't interested in any of that. All he cares about is where his next pheasant chase is coming from!
See how his eyes are fixed on the hedge on the left! :-)
