20th February 2011

Friends, here you see me waiting wistfully for Dad to come back! He's gone inside the gates of this eighteenth-century church to
have a closer look at the unusual architecture. Unfortunately I couldn't go with him because there was a big sign up saying that
pooches were not allowed in the church! I think I should be allowed to go in too, don't you?

Dad: A few hundred years ago, it was commonplace for pooches to accompany their families to church services - so much so that
a special church official was employed for the purpose of keeping them ( pooches, not the families ;-) ) in order. How times have
changed! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_whipper However, this church was locked - so not very welcoming for human visitors either...

Unfortunately not allowing dogs is only one of many problems facing us, they have to close due to individuals stealing from a Church. It is a sad commentary on our times. : ) v Nice pic

A cute shot of the wanting Pooch. A beautiful church, despite the unfriendly conditions.

Perhaps the church needs a new vicar like the Vicar of Dibley!

Oh, poor Pooch, guess it's better to find a more friendly church to visit.

I am kind of glad the church was locked, so you didn't have to wait too long Pooch.
