3rd June 2009

Year 5 cumulative miles: 11.5

Friends, you may remember that some time ago, there was talk of turning this track into a nasty big road. http://www.pbase.com/poochdad/image/54990897
Well, the local humans and pooches got together and fought the plans tooth and claw! Everyone was very serious, and very cross about it!
Luckily a change in the law came into force just in time to enable some very sensible, decision-making humans to designate this track a 'restricted byway'.
That means that you can take motor vehicles down it. But no-one is allowed to turn it into a proper road.
It'll be there for pooches to enjoy walking along for ever and ever.
That's good news, isn't it! But what about the many trees that had been cut down in anticipation of the new road?
Is anybody going to put them back?

other sizes: small medium original auto

I'm glad that was all resolved in favor of the pooches!

So glad to hear that the big road plan was beaten down. Lets hope everything will grow up fast in the gap where the tall trees used to be.

What very good news, but sad the decision was too late for the lost trees!
What a pretty walkway in spring - or has summer arrived?

Unfortunately Pooch, builders and planners do not think like we do. Shame on them.

That's great news, Pooch. Nice to see all the greens along this favorite road.
I'm sure that the big trees will be back someday.
