Today we visited the village of Shieldaig. Dad's guidebook says the village was established

to supply herring and other fish to help feed the troops in Napoleonic times. As herring is a very

tasty and strong-smelling fish, I did lots of sniffing all round the village in the hope of

picking up a delicious snack somewhere! Unfortunately, there wasn't a herring to be found!

However, I did spot a couple of chickens in this house's garden just below the road...

Dad: we're on an extremely slow dial up connection so will have to wait to catch up with friends' PADs until we get back...

chickens? hmm... i suppose they are in the same family as pheasants?
