Hi Sylvie,
Mostly it was a joke like when Euell Gibbons use to come on the cereal commercials in the 70's and says "many parts of the pine cone are edible". However, the ranger making the talk at Muir Woods that day mentioned the Native Americans that inhabited the area in the past ate them; Unfortunately he didn't say which parts or hand out a recipe. Let me know what you found out, I'd probably try one or two along with a beer chaser.

Hi, I found your photo researching if banana slugs are edible, your site says many parts are, which parts? Do you have instructions, a recipee? Would love to hear more...
