My wife had to fly up to Scotland on business and, never one to miss a photographic opportunity, I bagged a cheap flight and hired a car for 2 days.

The flight to the Highlands only took 1 hour and 15 minutes. It was the first time I’ve been to Scotland and I’m happy to report that the Highlands
were all that I'd been told they would be. The weather was good for late October, the scenery was stunning and the people were very friendly.

We stayed at a very nice hotel in Inverness and having dropped off my wife for her series of meetings I drove down to Urquhart Castle on
Loch Ness which was only about 16 miles away.
