I can recognize this painted turtle
easily by the scars on its back.
I wonder if the snapper did that?

How often do you see him? We had one in WV that was partially chewed up by the neighbor's mower and he lived for years after that.

Tattoos? There seems to be a theme to the scars. Maybe a rebel in the helmet, there.
