Arawacus aetolus stripestreak

Semaphore Road, Canopy Tower, Panama

A local birding guide called this little butterfly a "five-lined hairstreak" (Arawacus is in the hairstreak subfamily).

The jiggling tail "antennae" and radiating stripes make this butterfly appear backwards from a distance, presumably to protect it from birds.
