The elephant seals from Piedras Blancas in San Simeon, this was a wonderful workshop I took on the central coast of Cal. The workshop given by Eric Plante was very good and was well prepared, he really knew the area and where to shoot, I would recommend taking a workshop from him anytime available.

The best part of the entire weekend for me was the day after the workshop, when I ventured off on my own finding a lonely male elephant seal on the Wm R Hearst pier beach that as you can see, I was able to get extremely close to, this was not pleasant for my friend Joanne taking the shot but for me it was just the best that could have happened. No, it was no dead, just sunning himself but eyes wide open watching every move I made. I would have to say this is not a recommended thing to do for safety reasons.
