June 25, 2009 - Day 1
Joe and I arrived at the campsite around 12:30 pm. After helping Joe set up his tent, we headed over to Brevard to eat lunch. Now we were ready to hit the trail. First stop Log Hollow Falls located off FR 475B. The old bridges along the trail have been replaced making for a safer walk across the streams. Our second and final stop of the day was Looking Glass located on Hwy 276.

June 26, 2009 - Day 2
Our next planned adventure of the day was to travel up the BRP and stop at Mt. Mitchell. On the way to the parking lot for the new viewing tower, we stopped along the service road to shoot the purple fringed orchids in bloom. We spent quite a bit of time along the roadside picture taking. Joe said I took a shot of every orchid on the mountain. Not quite.... I'm sure I missed a few inside the woods. There's always next time. :) From here we hit Roaring Fork Falls.
