Our next stop was to Rice Creek to photograph another Spiranthes. This
species makes it home in the swampy woods where it grows in shallow depressions
and along creekbanks sometimes in standing water. The flowers are very fragrant
hence the name.
Blooming time: September-November
Occurs: Coastal plain
Habitat: swamps, floodplains and marshes
Uncommon
A Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic.
