After walking through several savannas we finally found this rare jewel.
The striking white flowers with green veins are hard to overlook.

Occurs: Coastal plain
In NC, locally common in three small areas in Pender, Onslow, Columbus
and Brunswick counties.
Habitat: wet longleaf pine, pond pine, or pond cypress savannas, sandhill seepage bogs
