I left the Green Swamp soon to meet some heavy rain along Hwy 211. After a while the
rain quit and the sun came out. I had one other stop in mind...a favorite roadside in Duplin
county. Thread-leaf sundews are found here along with a few other uncommon to rare plants.
Another species of loosestrife blooming here is Carolina Loosestrife or Lysimachia loomsii.
I explored the area along the roadside and after about an hour, the clouds came back with a
rumble of thunder. Time to pack up and go home.
