New Year's "Blue Moon" 1/1/10
On NY's Eve there was a blue moon. I shot this image on NY's night(my first of 2010) in tungsten mode thus the blue color. It was raining on NY Eve so no shooting. The term blue moon doesn’t actually have anything to do with color, but in 1943 Sky & Telescope Mag. erroneously wrote the second full moon in any calendar month was called a blue moon. The label stuck. It's rare to have a blue moon on NY’s Eve, happening only once every 19 yrs.
