Trillium underwoodii

Signs of spring are here. Here's a pair of trillium blooming in my garden. These perennials
are very frost hardy, and bloom in late winter while temps are well below freezing.

T. underwoodii grows in rich woods and shady slope forests of Fagus grandiflora,
Magnolia grandiflora, and various species of oaks and hickories. Its range is northern
Florida and adjacent Alabama and Georgia.
