Hibiscus coccineus

White Hibiscus coccineus

Scarlet Hibiscus comes in white too. This is a pure white form of H. coccenius found by
plantsman Frank Galloway in the swamps of AL. He gave me a cutting and it bloomed for the
first time this year. The flowers are snow white with pale green stems and leaves. In the
nursery trade the white flower coccenius is called Hibiscus coccineus 'Lone Star',
Hibiscus coccineus f. albus and Hibiscus coccineus ‘Swamp Angel’ (sold at Plant Delights Nursery.)
