First Season's Snow

January 20th, 2009
It snowed here in eastern NC earlier this week. We got about 3.5 to 4” depending on where I took the measurment. It was a wet snow that clinged to tree branches. I took advantage of the first snowfall of the season by doing some shooting of the winter scenery. I went outside at sunrise to catch the soft early morning light. The temp was 11 degrees, the wind still, and all the only sounds I heard was the crunch of snow beneath my feet.

February 4th. The second measureable snowfall of the winter season happen today. We didn't get as much as the January snow, but still had enough for some snowy scenics. About 1.5" of the wet white stuff fell overnight. When I woke up early this morning the ground and tree limbs were covered in a blanket of white. By early afternoon most all of the snow was gone.
