NatureSoil Step by Step Layout Nr.3 by Oliver Knott - Step 18

NatureSoil Step by Step Layout 3 (English): After you have lay a light foil over the wet paper you can start to fill the water slowly. Please, please understand the word meaning of slowly right! To have more feeling how much or how slow you fill the water inside you can use especially for smaller tanks a watering can. Because of the water pressure from the filling water the plants, the soil and the decoration will be placed on the same place like you have do your layout if it was full with water.

Important information because of the used water:
For keeping this aquarium I only use my local hard tap water. The total hardness from this water was about 20 (TH) and carbonate hardness about 14 (KH). The NatureSoil will soften the water in natural way in less then few hours. Especially if you live in an area with hard water this soil will be a very good choice for planted aquariums and freshwater shrimps.

The foil is only in addition. If you dont have the time to fill the water directly you can wait few hours with the foil.

Hello Oliver:

Really good job!! thanks for all these explanations, they are really usefull.

I got a question: Why do you put that foil before filling the aquarium? I mean...in this other "step by step set up" you did not use it. Why? What is the difference?

I'll be waiting your answer!
