Snow's Gone But The Winds Are Here

The 5 inches ( ~12.7 cm) of snow from the day after Christmas is all but gone thanks to above freezing temperatures the last two days. However the winds today are ridiculous. Just seconds after I took this shot, a gust of 51 MPH wind knocked the trash tote over and halfway up my driveway. Wind gusts today are predicted to reach in excess of 60 mph. I hope and pray they are wrong. Temperatures will also be dropping with some snow off the lake as well.

Sounds like what is happening here only the snow never melted in our backyard and now we have icy footprints!

A nice photo of your whiplash like weather.

It comes and goes in your area, if we get snow in December, it won't be gone until the end of March.

Good and bad, the farmers like some snow on the ground for it's insulating effect keeping the ground from freezing real deep, also helps keeping the ground hydrated. Today is our trash and recycle pick up, looks like you also. Good luck with that wind, we had it yesterday!

Sounds pretty dreadful there, as it is here, although not to that great of an extent.
