I took a ride around the neighborhood yesterday and this was about 2 miles from my home (I did not loose power nor have any damage). There are lots of similar looking situations. This particular road runs east/west so winds blowing down it just funnel through which didn't help. Two days after the storm close to 80,000 customers are still without power and it's not because power company crews (both local and out of state crews) aren't working on it but because there are so many power poles, lines, transformers and trees down. Unfortunately it's getting cold now and that's posing problems for many still without power. There are warming centers all over for those folks until power is restored.
Reminds me of the ice storm we had back in March 1991 when we were without power for 11 days. We got through it...
PS two days after the storm and not a word from our Governor yet :-(
