Tonight was one of those evenings when, if you're a stargazer, you pray for a clear night. We had very light snow all day today so my hopes were not too high but as I was preparing dinner tonight I looked out the window and saw the Moon. Holy cow - it's clear! Forget dinner - grab the camera and tripod and get out there.
This is the waxing crescent Moon (16% full) - just 4 days after the new Moon - just to the right above Venus and that's Jupiter way up in the upper left.
Tomorrow the Moon will be right next to Jupiter - can I hope for two clear nights in a row?
