Ka Boom!

Memorial Day weekend is the official start of boating season here. This year my friend Steve is Commodore of his yacht club so I attended the day's activities. Part of activities is the fleet sail by and review by the Commodore and of course the cannon salutes! I caught this shot the cannon being fired by Terry during the sail by.

For the record I did not fall off the dock when this thing fired.
In fact I did not even react at all except to keep firing the shutter.

Thank goodness for burst mode on the DSLRs huh?Still a very good capture.I'd likely have needed a tripod cause when the cannon went off I'd have jumped and my shot would contain nuttin' but sky...lol.

Very nice shot, very small cannon. I would have fallen off the dock. Those salutes go right through me.
