Moon Rises Over The Lake

Tonight I bundled up (it's 35F out) and went out on the pier at the mouth of the Genesee River to watch the so called "super perigee Moon" rise over Lake Ontario. It was amazing to see how many people were out there to watch this event. The "rocks" in the foreground are actually the inner wall of the Summerville Pier. It was starting to cloud over as the Sun was setting and I think we were lucky to see it at all.

Looks dramatic - very nicely done. We had rain and clouds here so I didn't get to see it.

Nicely done. I was so embarrassed; I forgot all about the moon shot opportunity!

Very nice shot. I was out last night, and saw the moon, but did not get any pictures. You picked your time well, it was most impressive at the horizon.

…and there's your result; the giant moon. A nice contrast of the reflected sun's glow and the cool of the night's shadows.

A very striking photo! Good for you going out to see this event. V

Lucky for sure...we're under a heavy cloud cover so there's no chance of seeing this event what so ever.

Beautiful capture. Another 20 years before a similar event repeats itself.
