Light Reading

Well actually not that light - it's kind of technical but not all that bad. I like technical reading at times and since I want to improve my images I bought this book last week. It was originally suggested awhile ago by fellow PBaser John Buffin and back then I went to the library and got a copy and read "some of it". Over time I wanted my own copy because I think it's one of those books you will refer back to over time.

While the recent weather is rather boring (today's temperature was 58F (~15C) and the huge snow banks are melting fast and turning more gray and brown) it's a good time for some learning.

Nice close up work along with the glass table top reflection.

I just ordered this book to help me with flash photography. It's regarded as one of the best.

Thanks for the mention. :)
It's a good book, but I still haven't been able to absorb everything in there.

Yes, the earth is pretty ugly when the snow goes away. That's what makes Spring such a blessed relief! Nice shot of the book & its reflection!

Enjoy the book, and may it inspire you to even greater heights of creativity.

Good lighting Patti, you read the right chapter! :-) Good luck, looks too heavy for me!

Very nice shot with the reflections and black background. Really makes the book stand out.
On the subject of photography books allow me a quote by Harry Callahan:
“To be a photographer, one must photograph. No amount of book learning, no checklist of seminars attended, can substitute for the simple act of making pictures. Experience is the best teacher of all. And for that, there are no guarantees that one will become an artist.
Only the journey matters.”

This makes a very nice image with the reflection and contrast! Well done. V
