Is It Going To Be One of Those Years?

Here it is New Year's Day and it's 56F (13C) and I'm standing outside and you can see me! Back on Dec 14th, I posted a shot of me standing in a snow storm. My area received a little over 46 inches (117cm) of snow in Dec and as you can see it's just about all gone thanks to two days of 50F+ temperatures. This could be one of those wild and crazy years.
I made Coleen's cabbage meal today but does green grass on New Year's day count as well?

Wow, the house across the street from you looks like it came right out of my own neighborhood! Even my lamppost is almost identical!! Our grass was showing yesterday just like yours, but today it has snowed all over again. Looks like we are in for some more snow and cold, which is fine by me. I think we need a bit of winter to make spring seem extra welcomed and special!

Soon it will be time to get out the lawn mower, but it still looks very cold there - viewing from this part of the world. Great to see you, Patti.

We are having the same crazy swings here. New years day it was 43F here which is unusually warm. This makes for a great pair of self portraits though; you should combine them in a single image.

Too cool, (or too warm?) Amazing weather this year. Sno blower to tennis shoes, go figure. Are you going to mow your lawn now? ;)

You look great, Patti! We were very cold today so I think your weather moved south! Green grass under the snow is a good thing!

Green grass under snow--there's good fortune right there. Good to see you.

Looks like a carbon copy of here! The snowman I built for my son is looking like the leaning tower of Pisa!

Great SP!! Your area must be getting the same weather as we are, except that we haven't had any significant snowfall yet, but have had mild weather and rain, and the grass is showing through. Very, very odd! V
