There is an on-line contest sponsored by America's Most Wanted TV show that is trying to recognize first responders from around the country (USA) who are nominated for the dedicated work they do to protect and serve the public.

I know there are many other first responders who are equally deserving of winning but this Officer is a local guy.

Officer Anthony DiPonzio is a Rochester, NY police officer who was shot on the back of the head as he was walking back to his patrol car by a then 14 year old punk (who has since been convicted of this horrific act) back in January 2009. He was only 23 years old at the time of the shooting. He has made tremendous strides in his recovery but is still a long way from where he used to be. I do not personally know Officer DiPonzio but it sure would be great if he won this prize. I ask you to consider voting for Officer DiPonzio here .
