This park was a gift to the City of Rochester from Dr Henry Durand and George Eastman.
The park was dedicated May 22, 1909.
It contains about 965 acres and it has about 5,000 feet of Lake Ontario waterfront. Originally the beach was much wider than it is now. There are many unique plantings in the park and several lakes of various sizes.
The park contains an 18 hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones.
The park also has it's own "White Lady" ghost legend.
