Since I started taking photos of horse shows I have been frustrated by most of the shots freeze framing the horse so it looks like it is just standing when it is actually cantering.
I wanted shots that showed motion. I decided to try to get shots where the horses body was in focus and the moving parts and the background blurred.
This time I had my chance. It was an overcast day and I took shots with the slowest shutter speeds possible while hand panning the camera with the horse.
The only manipulation done on the photos are cropping and blurring of the riders faces.
