Indian Jewelry

This is a collective-band I caught with Fuckwolf and Leslie Keffer. Leslie is actually in this band too, sometimes, I guess? Follow the link to get a better idea of how membership and former naming conventions translate into the collective that is Indian Jewelry. What I saw/heard was interesting and very much an organic-cusp-thing. Vocals, guitar, keys and emphasis on drum. If you weren't doing one of the previous mention intruments, and often if you were, you had an obligation to add to the carnal atmosphere of drum. I think this show would have been a lot more electric if the crowd wasn't so stiff and observant. Watching a band isn't really the objective. Listenning and feeling the art is more to the core of what we should focus on. It may sound hippocritical for a photographer to under-emphasize the visual aspect of live music, but I find too many people at shows just stare into the performance, rather than experiencing it on multiple levels. Basically, SF can be kinda stiff with regards to reacting to music. Check out the link: http://www.swarmofangels.com/ntxwho.html
