Our three day safari to the Mara came to an end and we were all too soon back on
the return road to Nairobi. Other tribes, some of which make these round, grass-thatched
houses have recently occupied parts of Maasailand that were formerly used only by
the pastoral Maasai. Population pressure is forcing the people to grow crops on all
land which is at least marginally suitable.
