Our day trip to Oman was just a tantalizing taste of this rugged desert country.
It also gave us a quick peek at parts of Dubai and several of the other emirates,
Sharja, Ras Al Khami,Um Al Qain and Ajnian--five emitates in one day! Fourteen days
were really too short a time for Martha and me to learn much about this facinating
part of the Arab world, only enough to whet our appetites for a possible return
some day. Early in the morning of July 6 we were on board an Emitates Air flight
to Nairobi, returning again to Kenya, where we have spent several of the best years
of our lives.
