"American Dream"
This was a theme of this year's Burning Man and as expected, there was a lot of interesting projects portraying American lifestyle, history and of course politics.
Not too many positive art or performance presentations - our unsustainable way of living, imperialistic politics, degradation of values with exception for materializm, loss of substantial portion of our rights - this was a main focus of theme-oriented installations or performances.
To my great relief, at least for first few days, music was much more diversified. It didn't feel to me as if the whole city was rocking to techno/electronica beat anymore.
More foreign languages - possibly because of cheaper dollar or just larger popularity of the event in other countries.
Due to drought,playa surface was much softer this year. Riding a bicycle was a major effort and dust storms were much thicker than a year before.
On Monday (the day when I arrived) conditions were so bad, it took me almost 5 hours to drive about 6 miles from the gate to our camp. Now I know what "zero visibility" means.
Other than that, Burning Man was as crazy as usual and I can hardly wait for next year :)

I want to dedicate this gallery to my wonderful campmates. Thanks to to them, this dusty patch of desert really feels like a second home.
